Motocross Racing Helmets

If there is one piece of gear that you never want to leave at home before a race it would be the helmet. This is the most important Motocross racing gear and it is necessary before you are able to participate in any competition. These are designed to protect your face and head when you wipe out.

It’s thick and hard shell design is able to withstand nearly anything that it might hit or at least to take the brunt of any hit that you might take. These are produced with an ABS thermoplastic resin shell that will meet the requirements set up by DOT and SNELL.

It is similar to the helmet that is worn by motorcyclists – but it is designed with a front vent, rear exhaust, and an adjustable visor. These vents were designed to keep the person cooled off while racing during the summer months. Wearing the amount of gear that they have on and with the adrenaline pumping through them they need something that will help to keep them cooled down.

The ear pads along the side of it can be easily removed and the inner liner can be washed. This helps to prevent the inside of your helmet to be caked with dirt and grime and to smell horrible. Having helmet hair is bad enough without you having to smell something horrible each time you go for a drive.

It is not hard to find a helmet that has the colors and design that you love. For extra money you can have one that is custom made for you and even has your team’s logo on it. The high quality helmets will cost between $50 to $200.

Measuring Your Head For Helmets

When trying to measure your head for the right size helmet you need to use a tape measure and run it horizontally along the top of your head. It should sit one inch above your eyebrows. This is considered to be the largest part of your head.

It would be best to measure twice to make sure that you have the correct measurements. When you know what those measurements are you need to use it and compare it to the sizing chart to find the closest size. It is best to try the smaller size first before moving on to the larger one.
